On July 17, Elwin and I made our Piano Brothers debut on BBC Radio 2’s Friday Night Is Music Night in Malta, live with the BBC Concert Orchestra. These sort of shows that come around once in a blue moon: it was attended by 15,000 people and was supported by Malta Tourism.

The special event Lights, Camera, Malta! celebrated Malta’s long on-screen history, and was hosted by cinematic legend Sir Charles Dance. The concert included music from films such as Gladiator (filmed in Malta), Star Wars!, A Star Is Born, Les Miserables and Game of Thrones.

We premiered our Lion King Suite For Two Pianos (to celebrate Disney’s live action release), along with The Greatest Showman Suite for Two Pianos and Orchestra with the wonderful BBC Concert Orchestra.

It was an absolute privilege to share the stage with the wonderful talents of Wicked star Louise Dearman, Game of Thrones alumnus Hannah Waddingham, Les Miserables star Bradley Jaden, and the 70 strong BBC Concert Orchestra conducted by Richard Balcombe. The concert was produced by Anthony Cherry who will also oversee the event’s broadcast.

The full event will be broadcast on BBC Radio 2 on September 20 at 7pm.
